Sixth Chapter Concluded

On the last day of the Chapter, the final text of the Chapter Document named as "Living our Missionary Vocation Today" was approved by the participants.

Fr.S.Stanislaus CMF was appointed by the Provincial Council as Provincial Secretary for a term of 6 years.

Fr.Arul Jesu Robin CMF will hold the additional charge as the Mission Procura of the Province of Chennai informed Fr.Provincial.

A Powerpoint programme about the Earthquake Victims of Haiti prepared by Fr.Lord Winner CMF and Fr.Jose Pitchai CMF is available with the Provincial Secretary . It can be used for Fundraising in our Schools, Parishes and Institutes for the abovesaid cause.

The Chapter President , Very Rev.Fr.Joseph Maria Abella CMF wished the participants and the team a fruitful missionary experience for the coming years . The Chapter concluded around 1.00 pm today, 17th January 2010 with gratitude to God and thanking the guidance of our beloved Mother.

Chapter Proceedings

The election of the Provincial Government and the preparation of the Chapter Documents had been the major events in the past two days. We wish to highlight the following events too.

Fr.Michael Mariadoss CMF has been designated as Provincial Vicar by Rev.Fr.Vincent Anesthasiar CMF, the Provincial Superior.

Rev.Fr.Joseph Maria Abella CMF, the Suprior General highlights the situation of Haiti daily in the Chapter . It was decided to send an assistance of 5000 Euros thorugh the General Government immedietly . Also a team comprising of Fr.Jose Pitchai CMF and Fr.Lord Winner CMF is formed to make a Powerpoint programme to be sent to all communities when they leave the chapter so that more funds can be raised in our Insititutes and Missions.

Fr.S.Vincent Anesthasiar CMF is elected Provincial Superior of the Province of Chennai for the term of 6 years .

Day 3 : Chapter in Progress

The day began with a guided mediatation of Fr.Eslin Francis Pereira CMF which was followed by the Holy Mass with Fr.A.Devadoss as the main celebrant.

The First session began around 9.00 am with Fr.Vincent Anesthasiar CMF as Moderator of the day. The Chapter Secretary Fr.Arul Jesu Robin read the report of the previous day which was approved by the participants after a few modifications. Then Fr.Vincent Anesthasiar CMF informed the floor about the wishes that came in from Claretians who have posted their comments in the Blog.

The proceedings of the day began with the presentation of the reports by the Secretaries of the first five groups which studied the report of the Provincial Administration. Fr.J.Irudayaraj CMF, Fr.M.Rudolf CMF, Fr.G.Baskar Amal Raj CMF, Fr.J.Joseph Victor Das CMF and Fr.V.Ulagaraja CMF read the reports of their respective groups. Fr.A.Chinnaparaj CMF read the report of group that evaluated the Economic Report. Fr.Raphael Raj CMF, the Provincial Superior and his Consultors responded to the issues raised in the reports.

This was followed by an open session where questions from the participants were answered by the Provincial Council. With this the Evaluative phase of the Chapter came to an end. Before the house broke for lunch, the Sounding Paper for the office bearers of the next Provincial Government was circulated.

In the afternoon session which started at 3.00 pm, Fr.S.Devadoss presented the Theme paper of the Chapter namely " Living our Missionary Vocation Today" thorugh a Powerpoint presentation. This was followed by personal reading of the Document and group discussion on the given chapters by the respective groups.

During the Evening prayer and Rosary special prayers were offered to the victims of the earthquake at Haiti.

The day ended with lots of expectations for the election of the Provincial Superior tomorrow.

Day 2 : Session 1

Welcome to Day 2

The day began with the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr.Peter Rwezahura of the First Liturgical group.

The First Session began around 9.00 am with Fr.S.Maria Arul CMF as Moderator. He shared the wishes sent by Claretians around the world to the Chapter participants. Fr.Arul Jesu Robin CMF , the Chapter Secretary also took his place at the Presidential Table.



The proceedings of the day began with the presentation of the Chapter Report by the Provincial Secretary. Fr.S.Stanislaus CMF presented the Quadraneium Report of the Provincial Administration through a Powerpoint Presentation. It was followed by the presentation of the Report on Economy by Fr.Maria David Anthony CMF, the Provincial Econome.
Then the participants were divided into 6 groups to make an indepth study of the reports that were presented. Time was given for the personal study of the report upto 3 pm.

Day 1 : First Session

The First Session of the Chapter began around 6.30 pm. Rev.Fr.Raphael Raj cmf , the Provincial Superior as well Vice President of the Chapter invited all the participants of the Chapter. There are 45 participants attending the Chapter. Fr.Peter Rwezahura CMF is the first local Claretian priest from Tanzania participating in the Chapter. Two tribal priests and a Deacon are also attending from Jharkhand.

That was followed by the Presidential address by Very.Rev.Fr.Joseph Maria Abella CMF. The preliminary duties of the Chapter were undertaken one by one. Fr.Arul Jesu Robin CMF was elected as the Secretary to the Chapter. Chapter rules were approved by the participants.

A team for the Communication with the rest of the congregation was set up comprising of Fr.Felix Clement CMF and Fr.Lord Winner CMF. We have created this blogspot and everyday of the chapter we will upload the information. You are welcome to make your comments to this page which will be communcated to the Chapter participants.

Day One : 11th January 2010 Holy Mass

The Sixth Provincial Chapter of the Province of Chennai began with the Holy Mass at 5.30 pm on 11th January 2010. The Claretian Provincial House, Tambaram, Chennai was the venue in which the Chapter is being celebrated. Very Rev.Fr.Jose Maria Abella CMF , the Superior General , presided over the Eucharistic Celebration.
